| Description: |
- Manage the divisions’ financial reporting systems and polices, amending current practices where
appropriate to ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Close, consolidate, and analyze month-end and year-end division records and present the
findings.
- Oversee preparation of monthly financial reports to petroleum division management, CFO, CAO,
etc.
- Manage the audit and review procedures for areas of responsibility and provide information as
needed to independent auditors and internal auditors.
- Review/approve all petroleum divisional financial reporting packs, support schedules and
variance analyses.
- Assist corporate accounting with SEC related disclosures and requirements. Responsible to
provide the draft of the business information for SEC reporting purposes including MD&A
comparative information.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions by implementing new processes
and systems as appropriate and monitoring controls across the division.
- Review, interpret and communicate divisional operational results, ensuring that divisional
financial results and variances are explained completely and accurately.
- Direct the preparation of and provide for the continual monitoring of the petroleum division’
annual budget to ensure cost-effective management.
- Review divisional forecasts and long-term plans as required.
- Monitor division expenditures in accordance with company fiscal policy, monitor and
project cash flow.
- Responsible for improvement, enhancement, maintenance and establishment of effective
internal controls for accounting processes and procedures of the division.
- Compliance and adherence to controls for SOX 404, including being a significant control and
process owner.
- Develop petroleum financial staff to ensure the financial reporting standards are
applied consistently and that policies and procedures are adhered to within the division.
- Set measurable objectives and goals for the accounting team in its support of the divisions and
company’s core objectives.
- Ensure compliance and provide assistance to the corporate tax department with all taxing and
regulatory bodies as they apply to the division.

| Education: |
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA is preferred, but not required
|
| Experience: |
- Minimum of 15 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Oil and gas accounting background and knowledge, preferred.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley and internal controls.
- Excellent executive presence.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
